2. AUC SHaSA: Strategy for the Harmonization of Statistics in Africa
SHaSA was jointly developed by African Heads of National Statistics Offices, the AUC, AfDB and UNECA
Its overall objective is to provide the African Statistical System with a robust framework for providing harmonised and quality statistics for the design and implementation as well as monitoring and evaluation of integration and development policies and programmes in Africa
The sector of labour market statistics is one of the key pillars of the Strategy for the harmonization of statistics in Africa (SHaSA)

3. UNECA
There is a close collaboration between the UNECA and the ILO Regional Office for Africa. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on labour statistics was signed in February 2016 between the two organisations.
The purpose of this MoU is to facilitate collaboration between the ILO Regional Office for Africa and the UNECA in SDG labour market indicators with a focus on the following areas:
- Youth Employment
- Social Protection
- Labour Migration
- Economic and social fragilities
