New Developments
Troll logsheet data tables and entry forms
Enhancements
Improvements in speed and stability
Report enhancements

Small additions to support specific requirements by countries
Bug fixes
Currently at version 4.46 which is fairly stable, and are focusing
development on the new version, v5.0 (details to come).

4. TUFMAN – NEW Version (v5.0)
Main Features
Based on Access 2007, will run with the ‘Access 2007 runtime files’ for those with a previous version of Office
Comprehensive error handling (so errors are handled nicely and Tufman can continue when an error occurs)
Bigger screens
Enhanced menus and navigation
New visual appearance
New Vessel Data Lookup module
When?
Needs some thorough testing then ready for use, maybe in August?
First version will be half new / half old version, with regular updates over the next year or so as the old components are replaced.

Search for vessel by:
Gear, flag, FFA VID
Vessel name and registration number using part of the name and ‘wild cards’ e.g:
ASAH* will return all vessels whose name starts with ‘ASAH’, ASAHI 1, ASAHI 4 etc.
*WATER* will return all vessels with ‘WATER’ anywhere in the name, e.g. CLEARWATER 1
Company, agreement, agreement reporting period

10. TUFMAN – NEW Version (v5.0) Vessel Data Lookup
Uses
Compliance – provides easy comparison of different types of data for a vessel / license. Useful in conjunction with some of the other reports in Tufman.
Data quality – can get a quick summary of the entered data to check if particular data have been entered or not, and check that data are linked properly to other types of data (particularly the license)

QUESTIONS ON THE NEW TUFMAN OBSERVER MODULE (TUBS)
We will be making available a new component of TUFMAN to enter the detailed observer data collection at the national level in late The following questions are designed to give us some feedback on the expected use (or not) of this system in each country.
Do you intend to use the new TUBS system at some stage in the future ?
How many observer trips are conducted in your country per year ?
Do you have adequate resources (database technical and data entry staff) to enter and manage observer data in TUBS ? Elaborate where possible. (for example, on average, days is required to enter one purse seine trip)
