Procedure Open up Photoshop and the image that you are going to use.
Resave the image under a different file name to preserve the original in case you need to revert back to it. (Ex: Image1.jpg could be renamed Image1a.jpg) Go to IMAGE MODE and select GRAYSCALE. Click OK to discard the color information. This should turn your image into black and white. Go to SELECT ALL to select the entire image. Use EDIT COPY (or Ctrl+C) to copy the image to the computer’s clipboard. Use EDIT STEP BACKWARD (or Alt+Ctrl+Z) multiple times until your image is back to color. Make sure your LAYERS toolbar is open by going to Windows Layers and see that it is checked off. Select the BACKGROUND layer and LOCK it. Use EDIT PASTE (or Ctrl+V) to paste the copied black and white image/layer onto your color layer. It should appear as its own layer on the LAYERS toolbar under a default name. With the black and white layer selected, use the LASSO or MAGIC WAND tools to select parts of the image that you can begin to erase. Use the ERASER tool to erase them once you have selected them. Don’t forget to adjust the size of the eraser as needed. Use Ctrl+ or Ctrl- to zoom in or out and make your work exact. MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE WORKING AND ERASING ON THE BLACK AND WHITE LAYER AND NOT THE COLOR LAYER.
