6 Reclamation Pg. 77 So why can mining be bad?
If we can’t grow a product, it has to be mined! So why can mining be bad? Mining can destroy or disturb habitats. Creates hazards for living things. Waste products can pollute water systems.

7 Reclamation Pg. 77 Reclamation - When a mine is no longer being used, the land should be returned to its original state or better. Surface Mining and Reclamation Act of 1975 made reclamation a law.
