If we can’t grow a product, it has to be mined! So why can mining be bad? Mining can destroy or disturb habitats. Creates hazards for living things. Waste products can pollute water systems.

Reclamation Pg. 77 Reclamation - When a mine is no longer being used, the land should be returned to its original state or better. Surface Mining and Reclamation Act of 1975 made reclamation a law.
