Odd table number Inventory Auditors obtain chart paper and markers. Joined groups answer both questions. Everyone must enter one response. There will be equal responses for both questions and write your name by your response. The scribe is responsible for monitoring writing. TG-P.51

3 Group Share Orators for each joined table group will share findings.
Bookworms checkmark responses that are the same as another tables.

4 Professional Reports Temperature Forecast Cloud conditions Wind Speed
Pressure Humidity Direction TG-P.51 Visibility

5 How’s the weather in our area?
In the same groups: Log in to laptops Visit one of these sites to see our current forecast Our zip code is 85388 Group share  Class share What did you like about the website your group utilized? What didn’t you like about the website? TG-P.51

6 Weather Vocabulary Temperature - how fast air molecules are going
Humidity - the percent of water vapor in the air Wind direction - the compass direction which the wind is coming from TG-P.51

7 Weather Vocabulary Wind speed - how fast the air is moving past a measuring point Pressure - the force of the air pushing in all directions Visibility - the distance one can see through the air TG-P.51

8 Tools Thermometer - measures temperature
Barometer - measures air pressure Anemometer - measures wind speed TG-P.52 Wind vane - measures wind direction Hygrometer - measures humidity

9 Visibility How far you can see Weather factors might limit visibility?
Fog, clouds, haze, smog, rain, snow, dust Determine visibility? View distant landmarks TG-P.52

10 Units for Measurements
Temperature - degrees Celsius ˚C Temperature - degrees Fahrenheit ˚F Tc = (5/9)*(Tf-32) or Tf = (9/5)*Tc+32 Pressure - millibars (mb) Humidity - percent % Wind speed - mph or km/h Wind direction - the direction from which the wind is coming (cardinal or intermediate) TG-P.53

11 Class Weather Chart What might be included in “Other Observations?
TG-P.52 Special Teacher Masters-TG-P. 355

12 Content Reading Read article Weather Tools
Record information in notes using NLRs and descriptions.

13 Weather Observations Making observations over the next few weeks
Each group will have a chance to take weather measurements outdoors with the various tools All students get chart, but after first day, only one group actually goes outside. Everyone else copies down their weather report. TG- P.52-53

14 Record the Weather Observations
