5 Complete your profile Very Important!!
Please add your cell phone number and an address that YOU CHECK FREQUENTLY. Hit “Save” in the lower right hand corner.

6 Opening your Class Click on the COURSE Name to open the class.
As soon as you take your first quiz, you will see a percentage under the “grade to date” column. You can click on this to reveal a “Pacing Calendar” which will show you when all of your assignments are due.

7 Pacing Calendar The Pacing Calendar is designed to help keep you on track. The dates are “cascaded” to the end of semester (or otherwise agreed upon due date). It provides you with due dates and lets you know which assignments have been turned in and which ones are outstanding. It provides a status update to inform you whether or not assignments have been completed.

8 Sample Class You will only see Unit 1. As you complete units, your previous ones will show up, but you will not see future units until you complete your current unit. You have the option of reading the text, or having it read via the computer. Go through the entire unit, and work through each assignment. Check-up Questions and Practice Assignments must be turned in.

9 Maneuvering through Apex
You will notice that as assignments are displayed, some assignments have a little orange square box next to them (Practice, Journal, Discuss, Projects). These are the assignments that must be turned in for a grade. Check-up question must also be turned in. Other assignments (Study Guides) may be assigned at your teacher’s discretion. If they are assigned, they are required. ALWAYS check the icons located on the right side of your screen. These reveal assignments (study guides, check-up questions, Practice, etc)for you to review/study/complete.

10 End of Unit At the end of each unit, you will see a CST (Computer Scored Test) and a TST (Teacher Scored Test)... Computer Scored Tests (CST’s) are similar to quizzes but longer (more questions). Teacher Scored Tests (TST’s) are similar to Check-up Questions and Practice assignments. ALL TESTS WILL BE TAKEN IN THE LEARNING POST CLASSROOM.

11 Communication A very important component for a successful experience at Learning Post, is to please keep the lines of communication open. If you have extenuating circumstances that are preventing a deadline from being met, contact your teacher AHEAD OF TIME to see if you can work something out. With advance notice, our teachers are very willing and able to work with you!
