2. Before the bell rings…do the following
Pick up a brown piece of paper
Have a pencil ready
Pick out a pair of scissors you want to use at your table
Be ready to fold, cut and paint!

3. Today We folded our paper to create a lot of overlapping triangles
Then we wrote our name on it(last, first, or initials)
Making sure each letter touched the top & bottom of the page and connecting each letter to each other
This way when we cut it, the name will stay together
We cut out our name so we had the repeating pattern of our name
If you were not here, get help from a friend(always ask 3 before me, there are more of you than there are me)

4. Color Review Warm colors: Red, Yellow, Orange Cool Colors:
Green, purple, blue

5. Pick a color Pick warm colors to paint on your name
Hint: use a piece of paper are cardboard behind your name while you paint, so you don’t get paint on the desk(that’s never fun to clean-up) – pick up your painting though so it doesn’t dry to the paper – put it on the drying rack instead
After you have painted your name mandala find a piece of cardboard that will be your background
Hint: Make sure it is big enough for your name mandala
Paint that with a cool color

21. By the end of class…
Have your name mandala painted with warm color/cool color
Have the background painted with the opposite of the name
Glue the two piece together
You can add embellishments with chalk, pen, pastels, or paint
If you did not finish your hand cardboard piece please do so with the extra studio time you have
If the paint is not dry, put your piece on the drying rack and make sure your name & class period is on both

Photograph today any pieces that you have finished
We will start making folders on the student computer and organizing your art work
Reminder: keep supplies in your box, if you need something add it to your box, this will help you have all the media you need to create your art, saving you time finding it and it will be in better condition because you are taking care of it
