Phylum Zoomastigina - Zooflagellates
Move using 1 or 2 flagella Absorb food through cell membrane Live in lakes, streams, or inside hosts Reproduce through binary fission, sometimes sexual reproduction Examples: Giardia, Leishmania, Trypanosoma

Phylum Sarcodina - Sarcodines
Move using pseudopod Capture and digest food; form food vacuoles Live in water or inside host Reproduce asexually Example: Amoeba

Phylum Ciliophora - Ciliates
Move using cilia Cilia sweep food particles into gullet and food vacuoles are formed Live in fresh or salt water Reproduce by binary fission; when under stress – conjugation Example: Paramecium – contains micro- and macro- nucleus

Phylum Sporozoa - Sporozoans
Do not move on their own Take in food from host Live inside host Reproduce with structures called sporozoites Example: Plasmodium
