2 Station 1 Thermometer Function:
To determine the temperature of a substance Should not be used to stir!

3 Station 2 Electronic Balance Function:
To find the mass of an object or substance Mass is not the same thing as weight!!! Mass is the amount of matter in a substance (we’ll talk more about this later!)

4 Station 3 Ring Stand Function:
Clamps can be attached to free up hands during an experiment

5 Station 4 Glass Stirring Rod Function:
To stir mixtures to speed up the dissolving process or the rate of the reaction

6 Station 5 Iron Ring Function:
Can be clamped onto a ring stand to hold other lab equipment to free up hands

7 Station 6 Graduated Cylinders Function:
Make accurate volume measurements Read volume at the bottom of the meniscus line

8 Station 7 Utility Clamp Function:
Clamps onto the ring stand and holds items securely in place i.e. test tubes, thermometers

9 Station 8 Erlenmeyer Flask Function:
Hold liquids and make approximate volume measurements Designed by Emil Erlenmeyer Weird shaped “beakers”

10 Station 9 Evaporating Dish Function:
Allows liquids to evaporate, leaving the dissolved solid behind

11 Station 10 Beakers Functions: To hold liquids
Make approximate volume measurements

12 Station 11 Test Tubes Function: Hold a small experiment
Are not used to measure volume Usually use a test tube rack or test tube holder along with them

13 Station 12 Bunsen Burner Function:
Heat substances to increase rate of reaction The tip of the blue cone is the hottest part of the flame, inside of flame is hollow

14 Other Lab Equipment Other lab equipment you will probably use: Goggles
Wash Bottle Clay Triangle Crucible Funnel Watch Glass
