11. My Classroom Economy Students pay rent for their desk.
Every student has a job with a salary.
Fines and bonuses are earned.
Every month salary is paid, rent is collected, and students can visit the classroom store.
At the end of every quarter, an auction will be held.

14. Attendance Policy For every 3 unexcused absences a referral is given.
For every 10 excused absences a referral is given.
For every 10 tardies a referral is given.
Student must be in school for 2 hours for attendance to count
NO pick up last 30 minutes
Note must be turned in within 48 hours to be excused. No late notes will be accepted.

15. Arrival Procedures
Students will be picked up from the cafeteria by 7:50 and brought to the classroom. No students are to be in the classroom before the teacher returns from the cafeteria.
Parents are not permitted in the building after the first day of school. If you drop off your child after 7:50 then please send them directly to the classroom.
Bell rings at 8:00

16. Dismissal Procedures Book bags 3pm
Parents are not allowed upstairs before or after school unless they have signed in and have a visitor pass.
Silent Dismissal will begin Day 2

Book bags with wheels are not allowed.
Check supplies with your child and compare with teachers’ requests.

17. First Day of School
Students will be picked up from the cafeteria at 7:45 am
For the first day only, parents will be allowed to enter the classroom at 7:50. Parents must exit by 8:25
Parents must pick up students from classroom. Please notify teacher if your child will be going on bus or staying for after care.

18. Uniform Policy
Pants or skorts: solid khaki or navy blue (no cargo pants or super skinny)
Shirts: Polo short-sleeved shirts in white, turquoise, and/or navy blue with school emblem.
Shoes: Solid black (including soles and logos, no exceptions) closed toe sneakers, or Mary Janes with one strap.
Ballerina shoes and TOMS are not permitted.
Socks are solid white and worn at all times.
Mater Gardens' shoe laces are optional and available at Mater Gardens.
Cold weather: Solid navy blue jacket (without brand logos). The undershirt must be school colors (white, turquoise, or navy blue).
Belt: Solid black

19. Uniform Policy
Student IDs must be worn at all times. Failure to wear ID will result in uniform violation
Please purchase lanyards. NO accessories allowed.
Lost IDs must be replaced for $5
There will be no exceptions to the uniform policy. Any student out of uniform will be sent to the office until they are in proper uniform.
Uniform violations
1st offense- warning note sent home with pass back to class
2nd offense – parents called to bring proper uniform & detention given
3rd offense – Saturday detention
4th offense – referral

20. Electronics
Cell phone / tablet use is not permitted during school hours unless authorized by teacher for instructional purposes

21. Birthday Parties
Brief end of the day snack to be passed out by teacher
Passing out of invitations to outside parties not allowed in class unless ALL students are invited

22. Volunteer Hours
Complete volunteer form available on school’s website, attach a copy of your driver’s license, and turn it in to the main office
You should be aware that if the parents do not complete the hours required, their child/children will not be registered at the school the following school year. All this information is stated in the Mater Gardens parent contract.
As usual, 30 volunteer hours are required per child, unless you have multiple children in the school, in which case only 15 hours are required for each additional child.
Half of the volunteer hours must be completed by the end of the 2nd quarter.
