Presentation on theme: "Then... who is the ‘real owner’?"— Presentation transcript:

1 Spirituality reveals that we are not the owners of our objects, emotions and thoughts.

2 Then... who is the ‘real owner’?

3 Nothing is yours; everything is God’s; do not forget this
Nothing is yours; everything is God’s; do not forget this! You have come from God, and you are on your way to Him. - Swami Ramdas

4 When we come to this world we don’t bring anything.
When we leave this world we cannot take anything.

5 Everything that enables us to live
and everything that is needed, is provided to us by THAT POWER who is the ‘real owner’, through two institutions...

6 ...Mother Nature and Society.

7 Air to breathe, water to drink, earth to exist, space to move about, the body temperature to keep us alive, all gases, metals, minerals, vitamins… are provided by Mother Nature.

8 Food, cloth, shelter, medical needs, educational needs, all creature comforts like paste, brush, soap, pen, phone, computer, slippers, etc. are all provided by society.

9 Mother Nature gives everything for free.

10 Society charges, but even here, nobody can arrogate that he/she can live without other creations. All are interconnected and interdependent. Producer needs trader and consumer, trader needs producer and consumer, consumer needs producer and trader.

11 Apart from these objects, we have also been given emotions and thoughts to choose, enjoy and to keep. Therefore, everything and everybody belong to HIM.

12 in every aspect of this world-Lila. in all beings and creatures.”
“Behold Divinity in every aspect of this world-Lila. Verily, it is He at play in all beings and creatures.” – Swami Ramdas

13 When we know that everything is His, we show our gratitude to Him by expanding from ‘me’ to ‘we’ and loving and serving His Creation which is, loving and serving HIM.

14 “To love all is the true Bhakti of God and
to serve all is the real worship of God.” – Swami Ramdas

15 Expansion expresses itself in the form of quality care and concern in all that we think, talk and do. We develop love for His Creation - not only human beings, but also birds and animals, plants and trees and even inert and insentient matter.

16 “The liberation and peace of the individual is surely based upon
his or her contribution towards the collective human happiness & harmony.” – Swami Ramdas

17 The way pointed out by our Master for this expansion is the triple Sadhana of Nama, Dhyana and Seva.

18 Chanting of God’s Name, who stands for love, enables us to remember the Real Owner always. There are there types of chanting – vocal, silent and mental.

19 between the devotee and God.
“The Name is the link between the devotee and God. It brings the devotee face to face with Him.” – Swami Ramdas

20 As a result of the mental chanting of HIS name, the mind will become calm, serene and fit for inward journey to feel the presence of the Common Denominator.

21 “Take His name for a long time and then sit for meditation.
Meditation will then become very easy. You will find that the mind disappears in no time; you will forget the body and become conscious that you are the Atman.” – Swami Ramdas

22 All our activities will then become seva because they are not
self-centred but God-centred.

23 “Whenever you get an opportunity
to serve the suffering, the sick or helpless, serve them with all humility and love; then you really serve Him (God).” – Swami Ramdas

24 If we hold on to Nama, Dhyana and Seva with this perspective, we will be able to lead a harmonious family life, conscientious professional life and a responsive social life fully aware of the fact that HE is the Source of all sources, the REAL OWNER…
