Formative Performance Task 1 SUBSTITUTION How did the Port of New Orleans affect the international economy as a result of the Louisiana Purchase? G.L.E Description of Formative Performance Task: You will watch a video from Discovery Education, record five video facts, and answer the video questions about the Louisiana Purchase. Objective: I can evaluate the role and importance of Louisiana ports and products in the international economy as a result of the Louisiana Purchase. Steps: Log into Blackboard and label your Interactive Notebook “History Kids: The Louisiana Purchase video questions”. Click on the 8th grade Louisiana History Tab. Click on the LA Purchase, Statehood, & Battle of New Orleans folder. Click on the “History Kids: The Louisiana Purchase MP4 video”. You might need to watch more than one time. At the end of the video, there are questions based on what you learned in the video. Make sure that you recorded your 5 video facts and questions/answers in your Interactive Notebook. Be ready to discuss during our DO NOW tomorrow. Featured Source: Featured Tech Tools: Blackboard iPads or Laptops Teacher Name: Teri Truitt School: F.K. Formative Performance Task 2 AUGMENTATION How did the Port of New Orleans affect the international economy as a result of the Louisiana Purchase? G.L.E Description of Formative Performance Task: You will review the Louisiana Purchase using Quizlet Flashcards. Objective: I can evaluate the role and importance of Louisiana ports and products in the international economy as a result of the Louisiana Purchase. Steps : Go to the website . You will click on the “Learn Button” to review some of the terms. You should already have plenty of background knowledge prior to this Quizlet. You will then play the memory game or use the flashcards to review the terms and people of the Louisiana Purchase. Play the game several times trying to beat your score. If time allows, take a snapshot of your scores and upload them to the Blackboard assignment “Quizlet score”. Early finishers will search “Louisiana Purchase” in the search button in Quizlet. G.L.E Description of Summative Performance Task: Using the website, article, and your prior knowledge, you will participate in a discussion board answering the Unit 2 claim. Objective: I can evaluate the role and importance of Louisiana ports and products in the international economy as a result of the Louisiana Purchase. Steps: Log into Blackboard. Click on the 8th grade Louisiana History Tab. Click on the LA Purchase, Statehood, & Battle of New Orleans folder. Open the following link and read through it - Keep this tab open to use as evidence. Open the following article and read through it - file:///C:/Users/student.01/Desktop/Why%20New%20Orleans%20is%20Important%20to%20America.pdf . Keep this tab open to use as evidence. Click on the “How did the Port of New Orleans affect the international economy as a result of the LA Purchase Discussion board”. Read the expectations to the discussion board before you start your thread. You must create your own thread first before your can respond to a classmate. You must respond using RAP and evidence in your justification. You must also respond to at least 2 of your classmates in your class period. This response must be thought provoking and create meaningful dialogue. This is NOT to criticize or insult anyone. 10. Evidence is key :) Have fun and good luck! Summative Performance Task 1 REDEFINITION How did the Port of New Orleans affect the international economy as a result of the Louisiana Purchase? G.L.E Description of Summative Performance Task: You will design and create a shadow puppet presentation with a partner about the impact of the Port of New Orleans on the international economy. You wil then upload your video to SeeSaw and use the collaboration tool to critique and respond to another class’s video. Objective: I can evaluate the role and importance of Louisiana ports and products in the international economy as a result of the Louisiana Purchase. Steps: You will be working with a partner for this task and will have strong prior knowledge of this topic before this completing this task. Go to the app “Shadow Puppet” on your iPad. You will research 5 images, graphs, or text that shows how the Port of New Orleans has impacted the international economy as a result of the Louisiana Purchase. You will then annotate and voice-over explaining how each image, graph, or text, that you utilized, relates to the unit claim. Make sure I can hear both of your voices in your video. Once you complete your video, you will upload it to your SeeSaw account You will then scan the barcode to another class and view and response to 2 videos. This response must be thought provoking using your Accountable Talk stems.
