Example Ancient Roman Government The Ancient Roman government changed many times over its existence. It was firstly a Monarch, then Rome turned into a Republic and finally it tuned back to a Monarch. The Roman Republic was a civilisation in which supreme power was held by the people and their elected representatives. The government then elected a president.
