What are two ways you can improve your students’ visual literacy in English class?
Reflection Have participants write down their two ideas. After two minutes, have participants share their ideas with a partner. After about three minutes, ask at least three or four participants to share their ideas with the group. Conclude the workshop. Visual literacy is an important 21st century skill for all young learners. As responsible teachers, we must incorporate visual literacy in our English language classrooms because students are not just learning to read and write. They are learning to interpret visual texts and communicate using all kinds of visuals. I hope that now you will be comfortable integrating visual literacy into your instruction as you bring your class into the 21st century!
