1 What Inheritance Do you Leave Yours?
Scripture Reading: Proverb 13:22; 20:21, Hebrews 11:8 It’s hard to leave something to others when you don’t already possess it.

2 Proverb 13:22 A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous. NKJV

3 Consider Abraham He was Called He Obeyed He was called “The Friend of God”

4 No going Back! Genesis 12:1-5
Now the Lord had said to Abram: "Get out of your country, from your family and from your father's house, to a land that I will show you. 2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." 4 So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. 5 Then Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had gathered…NKJV No going Back!

5 Job 31:1-4 "I have made a covenant with my eyes; why then should I look upon a young woman? 2 For what is the allotment of God from above, and the inheritance of the Almighty from on high? 3 Is it not destruction for the wicked, and disaster for the workers of iniquity? 4 Does He not see my ways, and count all my steps? NKJV Why was Abraham called?

6 Was his calling his first test? It certainly was a MAJOR test!
Hebrews 11:8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. NKJV Was his calling his first test? It certainly was a MAJOR test!

7 Acts 7:5 And God gave him no inheritance in it, not even enough to set his foot on. But even when Abraham had no child, He promised to give it to him for a possession, and to his descendants after him. NKJV Abraham didn’t own ANY of the Land of Canaan EXCEPT for a hole in it at Machpelah.

8 The promises were made to
Galatians 3:15-18 Brethren, I speak in the manner of men: Though it is only a man's covenant, yet if it is confirmed, no one annuls or adds to it. 16 Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, "And to seeds," as of many, but as of one, "And to your Seed," Who is Christ. 17 And this I say, that the Law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect. 18 For if the inheritance is of the Law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise. NKJV The promises were made to Abraham and his Seed. Who was Abraham’s Seed?

9 Acts 3:24-26 Yes, and all the prophets, from Samuel and those who follow, as many as have spoken, have also foretold these days. 25 You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, 'And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.' 26 To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities." NKJV

10 Not of Blood-line, but of Obedience Romans 9:6-8
But it is not that the Word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, 7 nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, "In Isaac your seed shall be called." 8 That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed. NKJV Not of Blood-line, but of Obedience

11 Faith comes by hearing the
Galatians 3:1-9 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the Truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified? 2 This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? 4 Have you suffered so many things in vain — if indeed it was in vain? 5 Therefore He Who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the Law, or by the hearing of faith? — 6 just as Abraham "believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." 7 Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham. 8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the Gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, "In you all the nations shall be blessed." 9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. NKJV Faith comes by hearing the Word of God, Romans 10:17

12 True Blessings Exclusively for
Hebrews 2:14-16 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. 16 For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham. NKJV True Blessings Exclusively for Abraham’s children

13 Hebrews 11:8-10 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. 9 By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; 10 for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. NKJV POW!

14 Ecclesiastes 7:11-12 Wisdom comes from God James 1:5; 3:13-17
Wisdom is good with an inheritance, and profitable to those who see the sun. 12 For wisdom is a defense as money is a defense, but the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it. NKJV Wisdom comes from God James 1:5; 3:13-17

15 Proverb 20:21 An inheritance gained hastily at the beginning will not be blessed at the end. NKJV

16 Ezra 9:10-13 Don’t be taken from the “Will” of God!
And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? For we have forsaken Your commandments, 11 which You commanded by Your servants the prophets, saying, 'The land which you are entering to possess is an unclean land, with the uncleanness of the peoples of the lands, with their abominations which have filled it from one end to another with their impurity. 12 Now therefore, do not give your daughters as wives for their sons, nor take their daughters to your sons; and never seek their peace or prosperity, that you may be strong and eat the good of the land, and leave it as an inheritance to your children forever.' NKJV Don’t be taken from the “Will” of God!

17 Choices & Consequences
Ephesians 5:5-7 For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not be partakers with them. NKJV Choices & Consequences CHOOSE YOU THIS DAY!

18 Proverb 19:14 Houses and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the Lord. NKJV

19 What did Jesus want to get
Ephesians 1:11-18 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him Who works all things according to the counsel of His Will, 12 that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. 13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the Word of Truth, the Gospel of your salvation; in Whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 Who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. 15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, NKJV What did Jesus want to get out of His commitment?
