1 OUR MOST FAMOUS LANDMARKS

2 TRIGLAV Triglav is the highest mountain in Slovenia and the highest peak of the Julian Alps. While its name, meaning three-headed, can describe its shape as seen from the Bohinj area, the mountain was most probably named after the Slavic god Triglav. At the top of the mountain stands a small metal structure, the Aljaž Tower. The picture of Triglav is also on 50 cent coin. There is also a song which is lyrics are about Tirglav. The lyrics were writed by Jakob Aljaž.

3 LIPICANEC The Lipizzan breed dates back to the 16th century, when it was developed with the support of the Habsburg nobility. The breed takes its name from one of the earliest stud farms established, located near the Kras village of Lipica in Slovenia. The Lipica Stud Farm is the cradle of all Lipizzaner horses in the world. Nowadays it is one of the most beautiful cultural and historical monuments of the Republic of Slovenia, its rich history reaching back to the year of 1580.

4 POSTOJNSKA CAVE Postojnska cave is our greatest cave. The Postojna Cave is a 20km long karst cave system, a web of underground passages, galleries and chambers, which has in almost 200 years been visited by over 33 million people accompanied by experienced cave guides.

5 PROTEUS Human fish is the fish who lives only in Slovenia. It is also called the OLM. It lives in the Postojnska Cave. This animal is most notable for its adaptations to a life of complete darkness in its underground habitat.
