European Exploration NOTES
Europeans began to explore. They wanted to establish trade routes to Asia. The Europeans tried to avoid Muslim-ruled areas between Europe and Asia. This led to the Europeans to look for fast and easy water routes.

1492, Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue, believing the world was round, to find a new route to Asia. He failed. But he “found” the “New World.” He thought he was in India, in Asia, and called the people he met “Indians.”
