2. Treaty of Versailles
All German hated the Treaty of Versailles- this caused lasting bitterness
The Treaty of Versailles blamed German for the World War One
Germany had to give up control of its colonies and some of its territory to France and Poland
Hitler was able to exploit the bitterness which helped him win power in Germany in 1933 and he promised to reverse the Treaty

3. Hitler’s Imperialistic Ambitions
Hitler believed that German territory belonged to master race and wanted to gain all the territory that was lost on World War One
He wanted enough land for German people to live on
He started to reunite all the territory that was lost on World War One.
One after another Hitler’s troop started to reunite all Germany’s land and when they finally reach to Poland the war broke out as France and Britain declared war on Germany

4. Appeasement
Appeasement is the act of giving in to an enemy’s demands in hopes of avoiding further conflict.
In 1938, Hitler demanded that Czechoslovakia cede the Sudetenland to Germany. He claimed that the German population living there was being mistreated.
The British and French prime ministers agreed to Hitler’s demands without consulting Czechoslovakian leaders, in the hopes that this would avoid a war in Europe.

5. The Problems of Appeasement
It relied to much on Hitler keeping his word
It allowed Germany to grow stronger in comparison to Great Britain and France
It encouraged Hitler to be aggressive

6. Failure of League of Nations
League of Nation was leading peace keeping organization before the World War One
It was not effective in preventing nationalistic aggression in the world
The League was supposed to maintain world peace but it was too weak and did not have any military to enforce its decisions
It’s ineffectiveness to maintain the world peace led:
Japans invasion on Manchuria
Italy’s invasion on Abyssinia( Ethiopia)

7. Japans Invasion on Manchuria
In 1931 Japan invaded Manchuria for raw materials
The same year, Japan began to attack China, with full-scale war breaking out in 1937 in the Sino-Japanese War
Japan Didn’t Agree to negotiate with China and continued the war.
In return China Declared the war against Japan

8. Italy’s Invasion on Abyssinia (Ethiopia)
Italy’s leader Mussolini was Furious because Italy Didn’t gain more land in Europe after the World War One
He wanted to expand Italy’s resources by adding to its African colonies.
In the spring Italy attacked Abyssinia but in return Abyssinia fought back hard and gained support all over the world
The league of Nation imposed trade sanctions against Italy but it was not effective because Italy was not affected by the sanctions
League of Nation again turned out to be ineffective in maintaining World Peace
