Grace Fellowship Church
Pastor/Teacher Jim Rickard Title Page Below are some simple instructions on how to use this template: 1. You can change the text in the graphical screen above or in the outline area to the left. 2. There is one default background that is indicated by “ ” .This slide acts as a space or a blank screen, use to clear or blank the screen. If you have a large graphic such as a map you could also use this screen. If you insert a new slide you will get this default background. 3. The first five slides have the other backgrounds for the set. To use more than one of these background types in your presentation highlight the one you wish to use and choose copy from the edit menu. Paste this slide where you want it to appear in your presentation, then change the text on this new slide. By copy/pasting the slide in this manor you will keep the background, text formatting and the customized animation from that slide. By using the copy/paste method you find it saves you time and keeps a consistent look through out your presentation. 4.There are a few additional notes written in the slide text wording that may be helpful. Note: We are working on a website that in the future will provide help topics on using sermon outlines in PowerPoint as well as provide sermon templates similar to this one. Check for more information. Thursday, October 25, 2012

L. Concerned Trust Concerned, “Anxious, troubled or disturbed.” When these things come to our soul it can lead to fear and sin; the opposite of Faith-Resting.
7
Throughout Scripture many have taken their concerns and fears to the Lord and focused their eyes upon Him in Faith-Rest. 2 Chron 20:1-30; Neh 6:9
8
Neh 6:9, “For all of them were trying to frighten us, thinking, “They will become discouraged with the work and it will not be done.” But now, O God, strengthen my hands.”
9
This was not his first or last petition to God for help in a situation, cf. Neh 2:4; 4:9; 5:19; 6:14; 13:14, 22, 31.
10
Trusting in the Lord with all of your heart, to the best of your ability, develops different kinds of trust that help you cope with conflicts and difficult circumstances.
11
God is faithful to those who are wholly devoted to the task(s) He has given them.
12
Sometimes the greatest spiritual crisis comes when a person has to move a little farther in his faith than the beliefs he has already accepted.
13
M. Commendable Trust Commend, “to commit to the care of another, to entrust.”
14
Peter’s first step on to the raging waves in Mat 14:28-29 demonstrated commendable faith.
15
We have to be careful about the distractions of life that can cause us to sink in faith. They get our eyes off the Lord and on to our problems. Mat 14:30-31
16
If we keep our eyes on the Lord in Faith-Rest we will not sink, Heb 12:1-2.
17
Nevertheless, if after failure you apply “concerned trust” the Lord will be faithful and save you!
18
N. Cheerful Trust Cheerful means, “Being in good spirits, happy, promoting cheer, pleasant, hearty, and willing.” I.e., “Sharing the happiness of God, +H”
19
This joy comes from knowing that your life is in God’s hands, you are under His care, and He will take care of you no matter what you face. You have given all your cares over to God. Psa 55:22; 1 Peter 5:7
20
Paul and Silas were able to rejoice in prison after they were severely beaten for the cause of Christ. Acts 16:25
21
Acts 16:25, “But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.”
22
1 Peter 1:8-9, “And though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation (deliverance) of your souls.”
23
Psa 28:7, “The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart exults and with my song I shall thank Him.”
24
Psa 5:11, “But let all who take refuge (faith-rest) in You be glad, let them ever sing for joy; and may You shelter them, that those who love Your name may exult in You.”
25
Acts 13:52, “And the disciples were continually filled with joy, (CHARA), and with the Holy Spirit.”
26
Joy is second of the nine “fruits of the Spirit” in Gal 5:22-23.
27
Gal 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”
28
Cheerful trust is due to being vessels of honor for the Lord, 2 Cor 1:24.
29
2 Cor 1:24, “Not that we lord it over your faith, but are workers with you for your joy; for in your faith you are standing firm.”
30
As a result of Faith-Resting in the Lord you are filled with God’s +H; joy.
31
Rom 15:13, “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
32
We should rejoice when we witness our fellow believers living the unique spiritual life for the Church Age. 3 John 1:4
33
3 John 1:4, “I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth, (Faith-Resting).”
