On major assignments, you will be penalized 10% per day (not class period) the assignment is submitted late. If a reading calendar is provided, you will be expected to keep up with reading even if you are absent. Homework and Late Work: Plagiarism is the unauthorized use of the thoughts and words of another as your own. If you plagiarize a work, either a published piece or one that your classmate has written, you will receive a zero for the assignment and you will be written up for an honor code violation.

Honors Habits of Mind It’s all about the books! I do not expect your student to possess all of the following qualities at this time, but your student should strive to achieve the following… 10 Honors Reading List We will attempt to read the following this year, please note that titles may change. Beowulf Frankenstein (Shelley) Sherlock Holmes (Doyle) A Christmas Carol (Dickens) Animal Farm (Orwell) Lord of the Flies (Golding) Macbeth (Shakespeare) Various poems and short stories Student selected outside reading Students are encouraged to purchase their own texts for annotation purposes. School copies will be provided for any student needing one. Please wait to purchase – at least a week’s notice will be given.
