He has ALL authority! (Matt 28:18)

4. Faith pistis (pis'-tis) to be persuaded; come to trust beyond belief
always received from God, and never generated by us
Ephesians 2: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

1 John 5:4 (NLT) For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.
Romans 14:23c …everything that does not come from faith is sin.
Faith is SO IMPORTANT to Jesus!

Great faith is due to understanding HIS authority

Fear and faith are incompatible

Matthew 9:2 Some men brought to Him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.”

When Jesus told people, “Your faith has made you well,” faith was still His gift
A gift once received becomes the possession of the recipient!

9. Faith Matthew 9:27-30 “according to your faith will it be done to you”
Seems to imply degrees of faith and degrees of results
Our faith also becomes a response

And He did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.
Lack of faith limits the movement of God
Matthew 16:5-12 “We have no bread!”
Their lack of faith seemed to be:
not remembering Jesus’ provision
not understanding spiritual concepts

11. Faith Matthew 17:14-21 “Why can’t we do it?” Matthew 21:21-22
Quality, not quantity!
Matthew 21:21-22
21 Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. 22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

Show us how we lack faith
Help us to understand your authority
Help our faith to be a response
