Same Signs (Addition) 4+7=11 -5+(-4)=-9 Keep the sign! Add integers

Different Signs (Addition)
4+(-7)=-3 -4+5=1 Keep the sign of the integer with a greater absolute value Subtract integers

Either (Subtraction) 4-(+7)=4+(-7)=-3 -5-(-4)=-5+4=-1
Keep the sign of the integer with a greater absolute value Two consecutive negative signs become positive Then add or subtract
