“Building Stronger Communities One Family at a Time”
Creating a Positive Culture
2
Positive Culture: The Definition
A Positive Culture is an intentional way of supporting all people within our communities, that focuses on creating healthy relationships and acknowledging the unique gifts that each bring to those relationships. We want to shift the thinking away from power, control and coercion in language and actions, toward affirmation, unconditional acceptance and encouragement.
3
Words that represent the concept of PCI:
Peacefulness Respect Sense of belonging Kindness Stress-free Sense of purpose Family Togetherness Freedom For INPEL’s Consumers, We want to make sure that our services include these keywords
4
Time to change our way of thinking:
Most Social Programs often downgrade those who are different or affected by challenges of any sort, to the role of second-class citizens. Instead of calling them: Clients Consumers Participants Let’s change our way of thinking and try: Friend Acquaintance Colleague This may influence their way of thinking, and they will stop calling us “Helpers, Caregivers, and Workers”
5
As a company, we must support one another to be more humane, encourage a spirit of gentleness, daily interactions and focus on our conversations of possibilities and quality of life.
6
WHAT IS A PCI FOR PEOPLE WITH DD
Truly knowing and valuing the person, creating healthy relationships, acknowledging the difficulties they face, offering encouragement along with support and providing safe interactions during times of crisis.
7
LETS THINK, OKAY….. WHAT CAN YOU DO TO SUPPORT PC IN OUR WORK? HOW CAN WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE? WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT TO YOUR POSITION?.....
