1 Double-Page Spread Process.
Enlighten Magazine Double-Page Spread Process.

2 Sizing Background Colour
First of all, I changed the size of the page to the dimensions of an A3 page. Next, I changed the background colour to a light blue-shade, which I had previously used on my contents page, but I adjusted the shade so that it was lighter for these pages.

3 Scroll and Smaller Writing
I then added the image of Joely, making sure that the image was a perfect A4 size. I then added a brown rectangle on the top right hand side. I edited this so that the rectangle was hidden behind the guitar, but not behind the whole image. In that rectangle, I included the text “Enlighten Exclusive”, in two bold colours; yellow and blue. I added a brown scroll to the bottom of the page, also in the brown colour. Then, I wrote the page numbers into this scroll, also using the bright yellow colour. This helps me add colour cohesion to the page(s).

4 Quote and Introduction
Next, I added a big, bold, green quote at the top of the page. This quote has gaps in it, to allow for a slight area of the page that will be covered when put together as a whole magazine. Underneath this, I included a brief introduction to let you know what the article is about. Then, I added three cream- coloured columns, all the same size; I will use this for my article itself. I found there was a gap between the introduction and the columns, so I added in a short sentences to bring the reader into the article.

5 Article Text Then, I added the main body of text to my page. This was in two shades; a green and a brown that have been used on this page and in the contents page/ front cover article before. I spaced the text out and had to get the right size, typeface, spacing, etc. to make sure that it fitted perfectly into the columns on my page.

6 Finishing Touches Lastly, I added some finishing touches to the scroll, as I found the bottom half of my page looked a little bare. I added the album cover which I previously made to the bottom, placing it on an angle. Next to this, I added some text, explaining that you get 3 free copies of songs from this album. Finally, I added the magazine website to the bottom of the left-hand page, reminding the reader than they can access content online too.
