Our Objectives Demonstrate how to draw plants on the landscape plan. Describe how to label a landscape plan. Explain how to render the landscape plan. Each kind of tree has its own distinct symbol Using different pencils allows you to use different thickness/ thinness and shades

How are plants drawn on the landscape plan? Symbols are used to indicate different items on the plan Each symbol is different Plants are obviously drawn miniature… why? A symbol with a + sign in the middle to indicate the center of the plant

How is a landscape plan labeled? In order to sell your plans, they must be neat and easy to read Should include: Plant list List of notes Title block

How is a landscape plan labeled? (Cont.) Title block contains: Clients name Scale used The date Designers name Plant list includes common name and Latin name Each plant includes a corresponding number Start numbering in the lower left hand corner and go clockwise

How is a landscape plan labeled? (Cont.) Notes consists of any information needed to describe anything Letters are used to indicate location as opposed to numbers like in the plant list Writing should be neat, legible, and in capitalized block letters

How are landscape plans rendered? Present plan in attractive way Enhance plan by adding color Render= to add color Use colored pencils or chalk Color with different shades to create appearance of depth and shadows Begin with a light color, then color half the plant with a medium color and the other half with a dark color Try to blend the colors
