Language Arts/Classroom Skills – Writing our first and last names Pencil, scissor, and glue skills Listening to stories Raising our hands to wait for our turn Following teacher directions Letters Hh and Ii (sounds, handwriting, sign language) Color Word: Black Literature about Spiders & Fire Safety Small Group Instruction Math – Calendar Counting to 20 Days of the week Months of the year Number sense: 6 Shape: Oval Patterns Guidance – Our 1st class with Mrs. Noel I-Care rules & feeling peaceful This week we focused on fire safety. Your children talked with me about how we stay safe here at school in fire emergencies with fire alarms and monthly fire drills. On Tuesday we will have a visit from the Berwyn Fire Company to review all of our fire safety knowledge! The kids will get a chance to go inside the fire truck and see the special suits & masks worn by firefighters. We also had our first meeting with our 3rd grade buddies on Friday! We are partnered with Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Saladik’s classes. We will meet monthly to do fun activities and build special friendships. Next week is all about pumpkins! On Friday, Oct 19th we will celebrate with our Pumpkin Extravaganza from Please see the Sign Up Genius from Mrs. Penny to provide pumpkins for the class!
