facts: 98% of the population lives below the poverty line
The majority of the population is young and fit for work. In Kenya, almost a third of the population (10 million people) are chronically food insecure. 50% of the population is unemployed.
4
Population Pyramid The average age is of about 18 years of age, almost 19.

The Plan What have we seen in humanitarian efforts before? Countries become dependent on the aid. The major example is Haiti. Countries with a strong, self sufficient economy have recovered from huge disasters, such as Japan. TO SOLVE HUNGER AND POVERTY, WE DO NOT NEED ONLY HUMANITARIAN AID; BUT AN ECONOMIC REHABILITATION PROGRAM
6
Step 1: Fundraising The first step will be to get funds. To do so, we will have a series of concerts. We will sell tickets, and sell commercial spots in order to raise funds. It will be coordinated along with the bands. The bands will be asked to play voluntarily or with a low budget, but that has proven possible and useful before, in the Live Aid concert.
7
Step 2: Humanitarian Aid
Funds raised in the Tour will be divided. 60% will go to other NGOs such as the International Red Cross, to provide humanitarian aid. They will also be used to acquire and send food, medicines, etc. to the people in most need of aid.
8
Step 3: Economic Rehabilitation
At the same time the humanitarian aid is provided, an economic rehabilitation plan will be put to action. It will be discussed with the leaders of the country. It will consist of infrastructural development, aid to rising businesses within the country, and generating jobs by establishing corporation bases in the country.
9
Long Term Aim If this plan is put to action, and in an expense of 10 years, the CHECK Tour will hopefully become a big event, and we will see the percentage of people below the poverty line go down. It is a long shot, but with hard work, good organization and planning, and the correct approach, it is possible.
