5 minutes Why is there always a ‘design stage’ within an Art-based project? Before you can produce a final outcome/product it is necessary to consider all the possibilities available that link to your earlier research/practice How many designs are required to make a it thorough? Generally we expect a minimum of 3 but to be really thorough, 5 or even 6 would be best – there is no limit! What are the stages of the design process? First you produce lots of initial idea sketches, then refine these to perhaps 3 strongest. Then take one of these on a journey through refinement and modification until you reach your final design plan/idea.

TASK: DESIGN IDEAS 40 minutes
You need to think about a variety of ways in which your designs can be created – they could include the same imagery which you photographed/collected earlier in the project, just be presented in 3 different ways. You MUST produce a minimum of 3 design ideas (pencil only) and annotate each of them clearly.
6
Make sure you complete your 3 design ideas (with annotations)
PREP.WORK Make sure you complete your 3 design ideas (with annotations)

5 minutes With a peer, show each other the various ideas which you have already come up with. Discuss the success of them and offer each other some suggestions on improvements and developments to help with your prepwork.
