5 The Present Tense The present tense tells you that something is always true or that some action is done as a habit.

6 Examples: The sun rises at 6am. The delivery man knocks on the door.
We sing the national anthem every morning.

7 Simple Past Tense We use the past tense to talk about things that happened in the past. You also use it to talk about things that happened in stories.
