We worked on fine motor skills using tweezers to pick up red pom-poms and stick “apples” on an apple tree. We worked on learning our 3D shapes – cylinder, cone, cube, and sphere and played many math games with them. We were introduced to the numbers 2 and 3 and how to write them and to model them on a tens frame. We are learning the difference between capital and lowercase letters. Students will not be permitted to change at school. The students will go to recess and participate in regular classroom activities before the party. FIELD TRIP Our first Kindergarten field trip will be on Thursday, October 11th.  The field trip will be during regular kindergarten hours.  We are going to Brumbaugh Farms to learn about apples and pumpkins. Our field trip will coordinate perfectly with our units on these topics.  Our district is paying for our field trip; therefore there is no cost for students.  This helps to cover each student’s experience at Brumbaugh Farms including, receiving a pumpkin, apple, hayride, and playing in the outdoor area. Please dress your child appropriately for this day. We will NOT return to school for lunch, therefore each child will need a sack lunch. Please use all disposable items as we will not return with lunch boxes, containers, water bottles, etc. Stretch out the sounds in words. Sort fall items such as leaves and pattern with them. Count: Collect leaves and count them. Count orally to 100. Enjoy the nice weather by practicing motor skills such as: running, jumping, skipping, galloping, marching, hopping on one foot, throwing and catching a ball. Continue practicing the letters that we have learned by finding things in the house that start with that letter. Use the monthly assessment that came home to guide you. Go through the rainbow words once a day. Keep practicing name writing every day. Keep Reading! Rainbow WORDS Trace, cut, practice: I can
