2 Bennett Farm Pumpkin Patch Field Trip
Dear Families, We will visit the pumpkin patch at Bennett Farms in Heflin, Alabama on Tuesday, October 24, We will leave the school at 9:00 a.m. Students need to come in that day like a normal school day. We will take attendance and eat breakfast. After breakfast, we will take a restroom break and then start loading up. I have attached directions to the farm. We will have a schedule to follow when we reach the farm so we cannot wait for students who will be late that day. Field trips last two hours and fifteen minutes with each station lasting fifteen minutes. Groups have story time, visit the petting farm, country kitchen, go on a hayride, pick a pumpkin in the pumpkin patch, go down the pipe slide, play in the corn crib and hay maze, decorate a scarecrow, take a ride on the pipe swing and wagon train, and more! A school lunch will be provided for the 18 students. All chaperones will need to provide their own lunch. Bennett Farms does have  drinks, tea cakes, pork rinds and more available for purchase. Bring a sack lunch and enjoy a picnic after a fun farm day! Each child will be able to pick and choose his/her own small pumpkin from the actual vine. Other pumpkins of various sizes will also be available for purchase beginning at the cost of $3.00. Each child will need to have one family member to chaperone. The chaperone will need to drive their child to the pumpkin patch. Please note that younger/ older siblings cannot be included on prekindergarten field trips. When you are ready to leave please sign your kid out with a PreK teacher. It might be good to pack an extra change of clothes for your child. Remember to get gas before we leave. Thank you, Prekindergarten Teachers
