In the manner of the word
The next slide contains a list of verbs and adverbs. Staff choose a student and secretly give them a verb and an adverb which they will have to mime to the rest of the group, for example “eat” and “slowly.” The group then has to guess which are the correct words. This can also be done in smaller groups or if you do come up with an alternative, please let me know!

Your teacher will whisper to you an ACTION and an ADVERB. Act out the instructions and your classmates will guess the ACTION and the MODIFIER (adverb) For instance, ”Pick your nose shyly.” Your classmates will guess the ACTION then the MODIFIER Verbs: Adverbs loudly walk Sleep angrily mysteriously talk Cut anxiously nervously look Read awkwardly noisily listen Write bravely politely wash Run calmly quietly watch Close carefully repeatedly clean Hit carelessly shyly smell Give cheerfully sleepily laugh elegantly slowly taste Slouch enthusiastically softly cry Scratch frantically solemnly Eat Pick gently speedily Drink greedily suspiciously Sing Stroke hungrily tenderly Stand Jump lazily wearily Smile ADVERBS MODIFY VERBS
