1 Are you ready to become a Young Professional?
It's time to introduce the Young Professional Membership to your students. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity that is going to give all your students a chance to grow their skills and confidence for their future. It is a free online membership for young people aged

2 Show the world what you are capable of
Young Professional Membership is a free online tool to build your schools for school and work: Communication, Problem Solving, Team work, Self belief and Self management It’s like signing up to a secret skills club. You’ll become a Young Professional Member and get ongoing support, information and challenges to build your skills. It’s important to note that the Young Professional Membership is for all young people, it's available to them regardless of grades and they should see it as their own tool to tap into today, tomorrow and in years to come.

Confidence in your skills and abilities Learn about the exciting careers that are open to you The chance to show the world & future employers that you are invested in yourself and your future

4 How are you investing in yourself to get the future that you want?
Invest in yourself The best sports stars, business leaders and artists all spend time developing their skills each day to stay at the top of their game! Sports stars might train each day, actors might practice their lines but they don’t stop there they work on their presentation skills and public image too. People working in offices, shops, hospitals doing all different jobs have to build a number of a skills and keep on building them too. It doesn’t stop when you are CEO - everyday’s a school day when it comes to skills! Every day, no matter what their job people are investing in themselves to ensure they first get to the top and then stay there. ? How are you investing in yourself to get the future that you want? Developing skills is never just a one off that's the same for employability skills, as we learn and grow our skills increase, the way we communicate the levels of communication, the power of our communication grow with practice. The Young Professional Membership, the resources, the weekly challenges are all ways in which young people can invest in their future success.

5 What did YOU do during education to be ready for your next step?
Why now? You might not be ready to pick a career today, and it’s ok if you aren’t sure what‘s next for you after school too - those decisions might seem like ages away! But, one thing we do know is that having skills and recognising your skills gives you choices. We know that employers, colleges and universities are looking at the skills young people have and to show they are motivated to do their best. Job applications, CV’s, UCAS forms, college interviews and volunteering opportunities will all ask you about what skills you have - if you wait until you are asked it can be a rush to catch up. Thinking about skills and investing in them today can help you know more about what might be best for you in the future and hey, you’ve got to be ready to answer the big question: What did YOU do during education to be ready for your next step? It's never too early or too late to start investing in yourself. The world of work is really exciting, there are new careers being created everyday as technology and the way we live and work changes. Your students have incredible opportunities ahead of them, with careers that change the world or serve a community. If they begin to invest in themselves now and see themselves as young professionals they will be taking control of their futures.

6 You are a Young Professional
Imagine putting on your CV, job application, college or UCAS form that you’ve been a Young Professional Member since 2017! It’ll show: that you are committed to developing yourself and make you stand out from the crowd That you understand what your skills are and if you keep accessing the resources and weekly challenges that are available to Young Professional Members you will be sharpening up those skills every week from now on You will have an A Game that will help you in your next steps Once your students have signed up to become Young Professionals they will be able to access an online resource bank with inspiring stories from other young people, top tips and ideas, information from employers and so much more. They will also receive a weekly that has a challenge in it based on one of the five Young Professional Skills. The is an opportunity for young people to be reminded about developing themselves and to keep sharpening their skills and awareness.

Problem Solving Team Work Self Management These five skills make up the Young Professional Membership - explain to students how together you will explore each of these skills in the coming weeks and how your school/college will be focusing on helping students to recognise and develop these skills.

8 What’s next? How you run the Young Professional Membership in your setting is entirely up to you - the Teaching Guide we have created will give you a selection of ideas. Use this slide to let students what's coming next - do you expect them to complete the Young Professional Membership independently, will you decide to work through the 5 skill assemblies before getting them to complete the Membership? Tell students how the school is going to support them going forward and why you believe in this opportunity. Ensure that the young people you are working with register as a Young Professional Member and have the time to complete the weekly challenges and explore some of the articles on the site to help boost their skills.
