Fragments Fragments are incomplete sentences.
Some fragments are related to the sentences before or after them. One of the easiest ways to correct a fragment is to connect it to a nearby whole sentence.

Run-on Sentences A run-on sentence happens when two sentences are combined as if they were one. Our dog finally came home late last night, she was dirty and hungry. Our dog finally came home late last night. She was dirty and hungry. To correct a run-on, you can make two sentences, use a comma and a coordinating conjunction, or use a semicolon.

Practice In your CRCT study guide, correct the run-on sentences in Exercise 2, page 443, RED book. If the word group is already a sentence, write “Sentence.”
