5 Difference between: Race Ethnicity Nationality
Genetic differences based on physical appearances (Colors of skittles or M&M’s) Ex: Black, White, etc. The shared history and traditions a group of people share (Differences between the insides of Skittles and M&Ms) Ex: Jews (share common ancestry back to Abraham through Judah) Whatever political or geographic location a people have a tie to (The circles that the M&Ms and Skittles were in) In this room, what is our nationality?

7 Difference between: Sovereign State (Country) Autonomous Region
A state that is recognized internationally as being its own unit with defined boundaries that has its own control and government States in dispute: Kurdistan, Catalonia, Taiwan, Israel/Palestine A region, typically of one nationality or ethnicity that is given additional control over part of a country Catalonians in Spain (though maybe not for long…) French in Canada
