Evaluate Me I was asked to determine how many times greater or smaller the digit 7 with the least value is compared to the digit 7 with the greatest value. 707.70 I knew the digit 7 with the least value is in the tenths place, and the digit 7 with the largest value is in the hundreds place. I know that each time the digit moves to the left it increases by a power of 10. I must take three hops to get from the tenths place to the hundreds place, so 10 x 10 x 10 = 1,000. This means that the 7 in the tenths place is 1/1,000 the value of the digit in the hundreds place. The tenths place is smaller than the hundreds place, so I can use a fraction.
