Naturally created features of earth: mountains, rivers, waterfalls, lakes, deserts, plains, oceans

3. How are mountains formed?
When the earth’s plates crash together and the crust is forced upward.
Takes millions of years!

4. rivers
streams of freshwater that flow to a lake, sea, ocean or other streams.
Most begin as small mountain streams

5. Delta
A land form that is formed at the mouth of a river that splits up into several streams.

6. deserts
areas that do not get much rain and is hard for plants and animals to survive.

7. lakes
A large bodies of fresh water surrounded by land.

8. Plains Large areas of flat land with few trees.
They can cover thousands of miles.

9. oceans
A large bodies of salt water that covers most of the earth’s surface.

Seas are smaller than oceans
