2 What are Physical features?
Naturally created features of earth: mountains, rivers, waterfalls, lakes, deserts, plains, oceans

3 How are mountains formed?
When the earth’s plates crash together and the crust is forced upward. Takes millions of years!

4 rivers streams of freshwater that flow to a lake, sea, ocean or other streams. Most begin as small mountain streams

5 Delta A land form that is formed at the mouth of a river that splits up into several streams.

6 deserts areas that do not get much rain and is hard for plants and animals to survive.

7 lakes A large bodies of fresh water surrounded by land.

8 Plains Large areas of flat land with few trees.
They can cover thousands of miles.

9 oceans A large bodies of salt water that covers most of the earth’s surface.

10 5 oceans Arctic Atlantic Indian Pacific Southern

11 SEA Seas are smaller than oceans usually where land and oceans meet.
