What has happened so far? What do we know about Macbeth? What is the dramatic irony of the witches prediction at the beginning of this act? dramatic irony, in literature, a plot device in which the audience’s or reader’s knowledge of events or individuals surpasses that of the characters. To whom does King Duncan give the title Thane of Cumberland?

What does Macbeth think about Duncan’s decision? What is the meaning of Lady Macbeth’s soliloquy? What is she saying in layman’s terms? In scene 6, there is another instance of dramatic irony. What is it?

6 The Murder Plot In Scene 7, Macbeth argues with himself about whether to kill King Duncan or not (soliloquy). What reasons does he have for not going through with it? How does Lady Macbeth convince her husband to kill Duncan? What tragic flaw does she draw upon in her argument?
