What do we do? ACT administers Workforce Development Funding (WDF) to the Adult Social Care Sector across Herefordshire, Worcestershire and The Black Country We work on projects that help to support the sector We support the sector with workforce development including signposting, information, advice and guidance to the sector We work with organisations to improve and maintain quality services ACT has administered training support funding since This is now the workforce development funding. ACT can support you to access this funding as you will have to register and complete the national minimum data set to become eligible for funding. WDF supports the completion of training and qualifications which sit on the QCF and will continue to do so as the new standards and RQF (Regulated qualification framework) qualifications come on line. The funding come from the Department of Health into Skills for Care England and then administered by local partnerships, ACT is your local care partnership. ACT supports the sector but bidding for projects that support the workforce. In 2016 ACT worked in Partnership with the Local Authority in Herefordshire to promote the status, image and profile of working in Adult Social Care in Herefordshire. A short film was made to promote working in Herefordshire. ACT will also work with organisations to look at their training needs, where to access the training and source potential funding to support learning and development. Recently delivered a project for Health Education England supporting Self-Care and Digital Innovation. This included delivery of a training package entitled Essentials in Care, which is base-line training for the workforce to include; Catheter Care, Nutrition and Hydration and Infection control. Essentials in Care is available via a free on-line learning package, providers need to input their NMDS registration in order to download certificates. Self-Care resources can be found We work with organisations to improve and maintain quality services as stated in our mission statement ‘promoting and building excellence in care’.

ACT in partnership with Protecting Rights in a Caring Environment (PRICE Training) Positive Behavioural Support & Workforce Intelligence It is possible to extract local area information with regard to the learning and development of social care staff from NMDS-sc, i.e. only 9.5% of the workforce have received training in behaviour support and reducing restrictive practice NMDS will also highlight training trends, i.e. PBS - are you a safe, effective and responsive service with regards to your PBS and person centred plans. CQC will require you to evidence this.
