Aloha, Last week we designed a culminating performance activity and set objectives for it. This week we focused in on designing a guided learning activity which would direct the students to meeting the goals of the culminating performance activity. We learned that guided learning takes place as a transition between the initial introduction of the content (initiating activity) and the final presentation of content learned (culminating performance activity). Guided learning transitions the student from being introduced to the topic to mastering the topic, it involves using various learning strategies to provide students with a sense of ownership of their own learning. Next Steps: Next week will be learning how to use backward design to develop an initiating activity. If you have any questions please let me know.
