2. The Survey aides to answer four basic research questions…
Question 1: How does the community think the site could best serve Holyoke and the neighborhood?
Question 2: What would the community like to see from the site? In other words, what would make the site visually appealing to the community?
Question 3: What land uses would support both what the community values in the site and what the community would like to see in site aesthetics and design?
Question 4: What development tools can help achieve the land uses that would support both what the community values in the site and what the community would like to see in site aesthetics and design?

3. IMPLEMENTATION
mailed 892 paper surveys to 5 distinct sub-areas
each paper survey was marked with area identification
hosted on-line version of survey
only one response per computer allowed
survey was open from June 13 through July 7
RESPONSE
361 total responses
172 paper surveys – 19% response rate
189 on-line surveys completed
