Student Interest Survey
11. What is a responsibility you have? 12. What do you want to do for a career? 13. What is something about which you daydream? 14. What is something about which you are curious? 15. What would the title of a book about your life be? 16. If you could go back two years ago, what advice would you give yourself? 17. Describe yourself as a friend. 18. Describe your best friend. 19. 1.1 Drawings, nets, and models
-Isometric Drawing: a drawing of a 3-D figure based on a corner view -Orthographic Drawing: a drawing of a 3-D figure that shows a top view, front view, and right view -Foundation Drawing: a drawing of a 3-D figure that shows the base of a structure and the height of each part -Net: a 2-D blueprint of a 3-D figure that shows all surfaces in one view
4
1.2 Points, lines, and planes
-Point: a location represented by a small dot -Line: a series of points than extend in opposite direction without end(points lying on the same line are collinear) -Geometric Figure: a set of points -Plane: a flat surface that extends without end in the direction of the lines and points it may contain (points and lines in the same plane are coplanar)
5
1.2 Points, lines, and planes
**Postulate 1.1: through any 2 points there is exactly 1 line **Postulate 1.2: 2 lines intersect in exactly 1 point **Postulate 1.3: 2 planes intersect in exactly 1 line **Postulate 1.4: There is exactly 1 plane through any 3 noncollinear points
6
1.2 Points, lines, and planes
-Segment: part of a line consisting of 2 endpoints and everything on the line in between -Ray: part of a line consisting of 1 endpoint and everything on the line to one side of the endpoint -Opposite Rays: 2 collinear rays with the same endpoint (opposite rays always form a line)
7
1.3 Measuring Segments -Congruent Segments: segments of the same length are congruent (≅) **Postulate 1.6: If 3 points A, B, C are collinear, and B is between A and C, then AB + BC = AC -Midpoint: a point that divides a segment into 2 congruent segments
8
-Angle: is formed by 2 rays with a shared endpoint
1.4 Measuring angles -Angle: is formed by 2 rays with a shared endpoint
9
1.4 Measuring Angles -Congruent Angles: angles of the same measure are congruent (≅) **Postulate 1.8: If point B is in the interior of angle AOC, then angle AOB + angle BOC = angle AOC
10
Adjacent Angles: two coplanar angles with a common side and vertex
1.5 exploring angle pairs Adjacent Angles: two coplanar angles with a common side and vertex
11
Vertical Angles: two angles whose sides are opposite rays
1.5 Exploring angle Pairs Vertical Angles: two angles whose sides are opposite rays Linear Pair: if two angles form a linear pair, then they are supplementary Angle Bisector: a ray that divides an angle into 2 congruent angles
12
1.7 midpoint and distance -Distance Formula: the distance between 2 points A(x,y) and B(x,y) is done by |B - A| = -Midpoint Formula: |B − A| 𝟐 =
13
1.8 perimeter, circumference, area
-Perimeter -Area 2l + 2w l ∙𝑤 a + b + c 𝑏∙ℎ 2πr 𝜋 ∙𝑟 2
