Google has announced the acquisition of Kaggle, a start-up that hosts a number of data scientists, for an undisclosed amount at the Cloud Next 2017 conference.
Founded in 2010, SF-based Kaggle describes itself as a platform for predictive modeling and analytics competitions and consulting.
Terms of the deal were undisclosed
With hundreds of thousands of data scientists on the platform, it would give Google the immediate ability to broaden its reach within the AI community.
Google Cloud fiercely competes with AWS and Microsoft Cloud for dominance.

Arris Intl plc: Goldman Sachs upgrades stock to “Buy" from “Neutral"; hikes PT by $3 to $32.
GS expects ARRS growth to recover starting in Q2, says “current valuation is attractive.”
“As Arris' revenue shifts towards N&C (Network & Cloud) and away from in-home CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) ... we expect upward estimate revisions and multiple expansion.”
N&C segment poised for reacceleration in mid-2017, driven by the introduction of new products as well as tech cycles
