Political Agendas A set of policies established by a political party.
May also include a list of beliefs on and/or plans for major issues within the country. Often seen as large documents.

Political Agendas Political parties and its members in office will use the party’s agenda to guide their decisions. This also influences the type of legislation they propose, try to pass, or oppose.

Political Agendas How politicians pursue their political agendas helps to inform the public about important issues. This is a part of how competing political parties make free elections meaningful.

Political Agendas How they are made:
Problems are identified: What does the public think is amiss? Are the public’s expectations being met? The party then shares their beliefs based on what they think the people want. They develop plans to put in action and share those with the people in writing.

Political Agendas Contents of a Political Agenda
1. Party introduction: This section will include the party’s history, their successes, and how they side with the people. 2. Belief statements: This section will specify and define the current problems, and share how the party feels about them. 3. Plans for the Future: This section will detail what the party plans to do about the problems in the previous sections, as well as any other changes they will try to make if elected.
