1)Can be broken apart to provide energy for cells
2)May be chained together to build a plants body
3)Build organelles

4. Proteins Monomers: amino acid Polymer: polypeptides
Atoms: carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen
Monomers: amino acid
Polymer: polypeptides
They have many functions including:
1) Connect together to build bodies: muscles, bones, hair, build organelles
2) Build transport tunnels through cell membranes
3) Identify diseases and tag for distruction
4) Some are enzymes that help break chemical bonds
5) Broken apart to provide energy for cells
