Richter Scholarship School of Social Work, Texas State University The Dorothy Jean and Walter Richter Scholarship honors their steadfast dedication to promoting the common good in our society through distinguished life-long public service. Eligibility: BSW student officially admitted to the major and MSW student either currently enrolled or accepted into the program (applicant must be in good standing in the SSW) Award: $1500 each to one BSW student and one MSW student Selection Criteria: Interest in policy practice as demonstrated by documented past activities and two clearly articulated professional goals Dedication to public service as demonstrated by past activities and two clearly articulated professional goals GPA for the BSW recipient must be 3.0 and MSW student must have a graduate and/or undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (verified by official transcript) Both BSW and MSW recipient must maintain a GPA of 3.0 during the scholarship (verified by SW office) Interest in policy practice and dedication to public service as indicated by resume and three-page double-spaced essay. Application and submission: Submit application electronically to Ms. Hortencia Garza no later than Tuesday, May 31, 2016 by 5:00pm. It should consist of one document labelled as ScholarshipName.YourLastName. It should including a cover letter addressed to the SSW Scholarship Committee, a resume with TXST contact info, and the essay. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
