My Example Artifacts prove that the people of ancient India made advancements in innovations. One example is the gada. This weapon consists of a golden sphere on top of a handle. The sphere has a segmented pattern and is topped with a star. The handle is not very long. The gada looks kind of like a small golden scepter. According to “Ancient Indian Weapons” on indianetzone.com, the gada’s round part was made of stone or metal. It was meant to crush the enemy’s head from a short distance. The handle was made out of wood or metal. The gada was actually mentioned in ancient Indian stories such as the Ramayana. This evidence supports my claim because it shows the advancement of hand combat weaponry. Instead of swords, daggers, and knives, the gada could quickly and efficiently deliver a more powerful and deadly blow at close range.
