2 Introduction The word “Renaissance” means “rebirth” in French
It was a period when artists and scholars began to show interest in what they believed to be the “Revival” of literature, classical learning, and, most importantly, art. I chose these art pieces because they all looked interesting with the amount of detail they all had.

Hercules and Orpheus are included. They are trying to get the Golden Fleece. This painting includes lines, form in the buildings, unity, and lots of detail.

Created: Oil on panel Date: Shows the Madonna and baby Jesus with the infant John the Baptist and an angel This has dimension, emphasis on the people, especially with the color provided.

8 Pieta Artist: Michelangelo Created: 1498-1499 Made of of marbel
Made into a side chapel at Old St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome This sculpture demonstrates form, texture, emphasize, and use of lines.
