Language of the Discipline
Use this symbol when you are using language of the discipline -- specific vocabulary used in a particular discipline: English, Math, History, Science. In English an example of this would be exposition and resolution.

Multiple Perspectives
Use this symbol whenever you are annotating for the perspective of the author or the character. This is one of the most used ICONS in this class.

Change Over Time Use this symbol when you are annotating for an idea or behavior that changes over time. This ICON is used many times because studying change as it relates to cause and effect is a large part of this class.

Annotation Activity Group Task:
Each group will receive two articles. Two people complete one, two the other. 1. Read and annotate this article with your partner, completing the questions that accompany the article. 2. Share your article with the other pair at your group- follow the instructions. 3. Create a common theme between the articles.
