If you connected to DU Wifi as a guest user you will need to wait 24 hours to switch to the general use network. You will be prompted with the screen shown on the slide when the time has expired. DU Wifi is an unencrypted general use network, if you would like to use an encrypted network please use Eduroam.

Each room has a personal access point
3 ports for wired access (usually gaming devices or anything needing faster speeds)
Access point provides wireless signal for all devices in your room
Devices MUST be registered (or they won’t work)

A $21 printing allowance is given to every student each quarter
Select “Print” and choose M6xx or CP4525 from the list of available printers
All print jobs will print in B/W by default
Swipe your DU ID card to release print jobs
Public printers are in AAC, dorms, and academic departments

Malwarebytes is an anti-malware tool that can be used to scan and rid your machine of malware and adware
Do not use any BitTorrenting programs

Windows has several backup options
Back up using an external hard drive
Use OneDrive for Business, part of the Office 365 suite available for all students

Password protect your laptop and other devices!
Don’t share your DU ID and password with anyone!
DU will not ask for your password or have you enter it on a non du.edu site
Don’t torrent or download illegal software!
DU is required to follow up with DMCA and other copyright complaints
Legally, DU is required to follow up with DMCA complaints as we are considered the ISP for students and are held liable for what is done on our network.

Access includes 5 copies of MS Office for your use while at the University
You may also use Office Online
OneDrive for Business gives you one terabyte (1,000 GB) of storage
Go.du.edu/office365 is the address all students have been given, but reiterate.
